We, students, tend always to complain about the overloaded program, lessons that we have to memorize, and countless homework we need to do. As a reaction to our constant complains, one of my teachers always advises us not to work hard, rather work smart. I didn't believe the teacher, for I always heard that what matters is the hard work. But as I contemplate upon his advice and listen to many workshops about the topic, I come to the conclusion that what matters most is the strategy that students use in their studies not the amount of time they spend studying. Below are some tips that students can use do better at school with least energy required.

Time is a gift that god endowed us with. It is a precious gift that each one of us should use wisely; one day we will either sadly regret the time we waste doing useless things or proudly reminisce the time we spent shaping our future. Having a bright future relies to a great extent on how well one did at university; hard working students achieve high positions, whereas low achievers achieve little if not nothing. So what are the tips that can help our students manage their time and achieve the future they want to build.

To be a successful student at the university is the dream of every student. This dream became reality for a number of students; but for others it is still a far-fetched one. The latter category believes that being successful requires extra, arduous hard work; others believe that successful students are born so. As a reaction to such misguided attitudes, in this essay, I will shed light on three crucial habits that every student should embody so as to make the dream of being successful comes true.

So as to produce academically competent students we need to make sure that they have the necessary and sufficient skills that will improve their performance, prepare them to face the new challenges, and help them achieve success. There are many critical skills that students should encompass; note taking, active listening and time managing are some of the skills that will prepare students for exams and ultimately for academic success.

Reading is one of the most important skill for learning, it is one of the founding pillars of making students success at university, grow autonomous, and learn more about the world around them. Many people tend to underestimate reading, deeming it as a mere process of moving one's eyes from one line to another. On the contrary, being a good reader necessitates certain skills that not all people are acquainted with. Visualization and dialogue while and after reading; "scope it out" and "I wonder" question skill; as well as reading extensively and having positive attitudes towards the author are some of the tips that readers in general and students in particular need to use so as to be effective readers.
